Your Data, Protected
When you answer an AAU survey, you should know exactly what happens to your answers. Here it is, in plain words.
Three promises we keep
Your name is never linked to your answers
We analyse your answers under an internal ID, never your name. We only publish group results, not individual ones. And if a group has fewer than five people, we hide it so no one can be recognised.
A reward is never tied to your opinion
If there is a reward for taking part, you get it just for finishing. It never depends on what you wrote. A critical answer counts exactly as much as a positive one.
Protected by law, not just by a promise
Your data is protected by law (GDPR). The person who handles it has signed a confidentiality agreement with the University. This is a legal duty, not just good will.
How it works, step by step
What happens to your answer after you send it.
- 1
You answer
Your answer is saved in the survey tool. Only that tool knows it was you, and only so we do not remind you again once you have finished.
- 2
We remove your name
For analysis, your answer gets an internal ID instead of your name. We keep only broad details, like your year of study or programme. Never your name, email, or student number.
- 3
We turn it into a group number
We report results only as group numbers, such as averages and percentages. If a group has fewer than five people, we hide it so no one stands out.
- 4
It helps a decision, and you can see it
These group results become the reports and dashboards on this site. Leadership uses them to make decisions. Nothing that could identify you ever shows up there.
One thing we say plainly
A survey only hears from the people who answer it. So our results show what respondents think, not automatically every AAU student. We always say how many people replied, and we never present a small sample as the voice of everyone.
That is exactly why your answer matters. When people like you stay silent, the picture gets skewed. Your answer is what makes it accurate.
